Summer is all about travelling! More than that, it is about travelling with your friends. We all dream about those movie-like trips where we have fun, and everything is perfectly planned. Don’t let this dream stay only in your mind – follow our 5 tips to organize the best summer trip with your international friends and make the most of it!
1. Set your intentions straight
What is the aim of your trip? What do you want to do during your time away? You have to come to a mutual conclusion in order not to argue when you arrive to the destination, whether you should go to a bar or to a museum. While planning a group trip, it is really important to understand what you all want and find balance in it – this way, it will be a pleasant time for everybody.
2. Choose a leader
Every group trip should have a “boss”, a responsible person who is organized and always knows what is up. Of course, it should be a person’s own decision to become a leader of the trip, there should be no forcing. However, if there is no natural leader, you can divide the responsibilities during your summer trip. More than that, it is healthy to do it. A perfect option would be to have an “anchor”-person as well as balance out the tasks between everybody in the group.
3. Be honest about your finances
Money can be a cornerstone when it comes to trips with friends. All of us have different financial situation, so it is crucial to be upfront about what you can and cannot afford. There is no point to harm yourself financially just not to spoil the trip. When you will talk about your finances, maybe, some of your friends will relate, and offer to share a meal or any other shareable costs during the vacation. Also, don’t forget that tour operators often are ready to give discounts for groups of people, so don’t hesitate to ask and, who knows, maybe you will be able to save some!
4. Make plans
Like, literal, solid plans. You should know where you will go on every day of your trip in order to avoid mess and arguments. Knowing what you want to see and do will help immensely, and you won’t be aimlessly strolling the streets. Book as many tickets, make reservations beforehand not to stress about it on the spot, and your trip will go smoothly! Don’t forget about making time for yourself too if you feel like it.
5. Know how to handle drama
Obviously, no friends trip goes by without drama, so it is really important for you to know how to make peace with everybody. Know where to stop and how to move on from the argument, let each other speak and don’t be afraid to prove your point. Together, as a group, decide how to prevent conflicts in the future. Having arguments in a group of people is completely normal, and there is nothing you can’t solve.
Summer trips with friends may be challenging, but they are worthy of the effort! Don’t be afraid to go out of your comfort zone, plan thoroughly and get ready for an awesome vacation with people you love – it is going to be great no matter what!
