How Can Freshmen Connect With The Alumni Community at Corvinus University?

The new alumni engagement strategy is based on the idea that students can become part of the alumni community as soon as they start their studies.

At the core of the University’s new „alumni from day one” strategy is that students – and indeed alumni – are key stakeholders in our institutional ecosystem. This is an essential mindset for both students and alumni, who are investing in their academic learning to reap lifelong benefits, getting as much out of their experience as they are putting in.

During this year’s Onboarding week, the Alumni & Careers team had the privilege to meet the incoming Corvinus alumni of the future, raising awareness of the university’s alumni and careers activities. In doing so, students can begin to perceive value in alumni engagement, and begin to think about their career development, recognizing that they are part of a larger, wider global community.

They become aware of available career services and the benefits of alumni connections. To ignite students’ curiosity even further, they were invited to participate in a fun Alumni & Careers quiz for a chance to win a coveted Corvinus hoodie and had the opportunity to sit down with some of our fantastic Navigator mentors to discuss career interests and trajectories early on in their Corvinus journeys.

Adopting this mindset, over time, will enable the transition of active student involvement to active alumni engagement, as by the time this cohort of freshmen graduate, they will prioritize paying their positive experience forward and supporting the next generation of Corvinus students, be it through networking, volunteering or mentorship.
