The Kinizsi Street college of the Corvinus University of Budapest has been renovated since the summer. Due to the pandemic situation, a lot of work had to be postponed, but from the renovation plans, the construction of the apartment for disabled students could still start in the first week of December 2020 and is expected to be completed in mid-February 2021.
When designing and furnishing the apartment, the goal is to meet the changed living conditions of the students to the maximum. The designed apartment has a fully equipped kitchen, a living room for two people and a bathroom. We will create a fully equipped kitchen area with a built-in oven, electric stove, microwave, automatic washing machine and other special furniture for residents. We will create a fully equipped kitchen area with:
a built-in oven,
electric stove,
microwave,
automatic washing machine and other special furniture for residents.
In the bathroom, we also build a shower, washbasin and toilet suitable for the disabled. We will also place alarm switches in several parts of the apartment, which will transmit a signal to the 0-24 reception service. The living room will also be equipped with beds, chairs, desks and other equipment to suit special needs.
Of course, in addition to these, the most challenging part of the work was the re-laying of power lines, pulling the internet cabel, the construction of fire alarm systems, the design of the heating system and drainage, the demolition and construction of the walls. The apartment for the disabled is located on the basic level in the L wing of the dormitory. To reach it, it is also necessary to build a wheelchair lift on the ground floor. The elevator will also be a construction that meets special standards.
